Dalam rangka memperingati Hari Ulang Tahun Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia ke-71, BPK Perwakilan Provinsi Riau melaksanakan Upacara Bendera Peringatan HUT ke-71 Republik Indonesia pada Rabu, 17 Agustus 2016 bertempat di halaman gedung kantor Perwakilan. Pada upacara HUT RI ke-71 ini, Kepala Perwakilan, Harry Purwaka, bertindak sebagai Inspektur Upacara dan sebagai Komandan Upacara adalah Rizal Zulfikar.
